Globe Telecom has partnered with Maxis, Malaysia’s telecom provider, to give Overseas Filipino Workers 36 percent lower International Direct Dial (IDD) rates and innovative mobile services.

Recently, Globe and Maxis launched their co-branded Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), the Hotlink-Kababayan Prepaid SIM, the first and only Pinoy SIM in Malaysia, in Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu.

With the Hotlink-Kababayan SIM, OFWs get special IDD rates when calling Globe and TM subscribers via IDD132. The SIM’s IDD call rate of RM (Malaysian Ringgit) 0.50 sen per minute is at least 36 percent lower than those offered by other wireless service providers in Malaysia.

The special international SMS rate to Globe and TM subscribers is RM0.15 sen per text message, which is 25 percent cheaper than that offered by other cellular operators in Malaysia. The new Hotlink-Kababayan SIM also has Pinoy download features for ringtones, wallpapers and other accessories.
